Inspired by Dvorak - Call for Compositions
After the huge success of Inspired by Debussy in 2012 and Inspired by Britten in 2013, EUNIC London in cooperation with Czech Centre London is proud to present Inspired by Dvorak.
Inspired by Dvorak will be a concert to showcase world class musicians working in the fields of electronic and classical music. In partnership with the European Commission in London, the concert is to be held at the beautiful Grade I listed Union Chapel in London on 27 November, 2014. The program will feature an eclectic mix of original and specially commissioned works all inspired by the Czech composer Antonin Dvorak.
The Czech Centre London is thrilled to open a call for composers of any age residing in EU countries to submit their compositions inspired by Dvorak.
Compositions should be submitted by 25 July 2014, please find the Call for Compositions below

Unsound London 2013 (26-29 September 2013)
Festival of advanced and experimental sounds and visuals for the first time in London.
Leading up to the annual Unsound Krakow festival in October, Unsound is headed to London for a special edition between 26-29 September 2013. A EUNIC London project, the programme has been produced in association with the Polish Cultural Institute in London, Unsound Productions and Fundacja Tone. It spans events at the BFI Southbank, Barbican Centre and Dalston's Café Oto, along with a night presented with BleeD. Unsound London follows three successful editions in New York, as well as a 2013 edition as part of the prestigious Adelaide Festival.
Unsound London is a four-day event across four venues, featuring cutting-edge artists from Poland, UK, Germany and Austria. Read full line up here.

The 'Inspired by...' series continue with a concert that celebrates, in an ingenious manner, the personality and the work of the great composer, pianist and conductor Benjamin Britten, 100 years after his birth.
Four rising stars of UK's contemporary music scene, known as the Mercury Quartet – Vlad Maistorovici, Romania (violin), Harry Cameron-Penny, Great Britain (clarinet), Corentin Chassard, France (cello) and Antoine Francoise, Switzerland (piano) – present an original interpretation of major works that were inspired by the British composer.
The event is organised with the support of the European Commission Representation in the UK and under the auspices of EUNIC London.

EUNIC presents, in partnership with the European Commission's London office, the first in an exciting new series of concerts profiling young composers from the EU. As a year of celebrating Debussy draws to its close, this concert will feature a mixed programme of original and specially commissioned works Inspired by Debussy. It also celebrates Cyprus’s Presidency of the European Council with a work written by one of Cyprus’s leading contemporary composers.
The young composers Evis Sammoutis, from Cyprus, Malle Maltis from Estonia, Thomas Oehler from France and Dobromila Jaskot from Poland have been chosen because of their established reputation in their own countries and their growing reputation abroad .The musicians are the award-winning Mercury Quartet rising stars of the UK and Europe's contemporary music scene. They will be joined by Ana de la Vega flute, Claire Iselin harp, and internationally acclaimed mezzo soprano Loré Lixenberg.
